Happy Constitution Day!






What we did in class today...

We discussed the difference between a "seed" and a "watermelon" story and continued to write. Ask your kiddo! We also shared our work (see photos.)

We celebrated the U.S. Constitution by discussing 1st Amendment issues and introducing our Current Events Activity for the year. Students will work in teams to find, write about, and comment on current events that are in some way controversial. Stay tuned for more details.



Homework…

Reading:

1. Read a book of your choosing for at least 20 minutes.

2. Complete pages 111 - 115 and the "Final Writing Assignment" in the Purple Packet. Due Friday 9.19.

Social Studies:

Choose a job for our election simulation among the following four (if you haven't already): candidate, campaign manager, publicity manager, speech writer. Email Mr. Joe by Thursday with your choice.
