Language Arts:
We began to type the drafts of our fiction stories.
Creative Communications is an optional poetry and essay contest for our kids. Extra credit will be given. I'm available to edit.
Social Studies:
We continued to research and began to write the first drafts of our China essays.

Language Arts
1. Read 20 minutes. Post your reading to the reading log on http://56reading.wikispaces.com/
2. Write for at least five minutes on your Daily Writing Blog on your Weebly site. Write your choice of genre: narrative, expository, poetry, media reviews, memoir, et. al.
3. R&E Reflection Letter must be emailed to Mr. Joe by Tuesday May 26. Guidelines are:
Write a letter to Mr. Joe in Word. Attach it in an email. Your letter should answer the question, "Which novel that you read this school year (since September '08) has been most important to you? Answer at least three paragraphs that articulate the following thoughts:
Paragraph 1: Why was the novel important (at least three complete sentences that explain why.)
Paragraph 2: How was the author's craft (way of writing) meaningful? Think "mentor text." (at least three complete sentences that explain why.)
Paragraph 3: Why would you recommend this book to a friend? (at least three complete sentences that explain why.)
Social Studies
1.Current Events Week 2'ers. Post to Moodle by Wednesday May 20. Responses by May 22. Ask your student for details. The assignment is clearly explained on Moodle.
