What we did in class today:

Language Arts:

We presented R&E's today and read the story All Summer in a Day by Ray Bradbury.

Creative Communications is an optional poetry and essay contest for our kids. Extra credit will be given. I'm available to edit.

Social Studies:

We learned about how Siddartha Gautama decided to become an ascetic.

Language Arts

1. Read 20 minutes. Post your reading to the reading log on http://56reading.wikispaces.com/

2. R&E #3 - Due week of January 5. Practice your book commercial at least three times.

3. Read "Lost Temple of the Aztecs" in Houghton Mifflin Book (RRB)

4. Complete pages 1-17 in blue packet by Wednesday January 14, 2009.

5. Study for Friday spelling test from "Lost Temple of the Aztecs" words on p.9 in blue packet.

6. Set up the Daily Writing Blog on your Weebly Site.

Social Studies

1. Current Events Week 2'ers. Post to Moodle by Wednesday January 7. Responses by January 9. Ask your student for details. The assignment is clearly explained on Moodle.

2. Share a Scholastic News article with a parent (Homeroom 505 today, 507 tomorrow)
