What we did in class today:
Language Arts:
We read and wrote analyses about a variety of short stories we've been reading, focusing on characterization, including Eleven by Sandra Cisneros.
Creative Communications is an optional poetry and essay contest for our kids. Extra credit will be given. I'm available to edit.
Social Studies:
We continued our examination of the history of Christianity, matching textual descriptions with art work.
Homework
Language Arts
1. Read 20 minutes. Post your reading to the reading log on http://56reading.wikispaces.com/
2. R&E #4 - Due week of February 9. Practice your book commercial at least three times.
Social Studies
1. Current Events Week 4'ers. Post to Moodle by Wednesday January 21. Responses by January 23. Ask your student for details. The assignment is clearly explained on Moodle.
2. Get Buddhism Test signed by parent (507 only - 505 will receive their tests back on Monday.)
