QPC: I am asking that each student please bring in $2.00 on Monday December 8 to cover costs for the QPC. Ask your child for details.

Mr Joe at Conference in Lansing: Mr Joe will be out the next two days but back on Monday the 8th. I will be online and on my cell at 248-224-2039 if you need me.

What we did in class today:

Language Arts:

We conducted our class spelling bee and presented our Response and Explorations. Congratulations to 5th graders Maria Graham and Andrew Arpasi and 6th graders Emma Lietz and Aaron Levett who will represent the Joberts homerooms at the BCS Spelling Bee on January 9, 2009.

Creative Communications is an optional poetry and essay contest for our kids. Extra credit will be given. I'm available to edit.

Social Studies:

We continued our study of Judaism by examining the two exile periods and the diaspora.

1. Read 20 minutes. Post your reading to the reading log on http://56reading.wikispaces.com/

2. R&E #2 - Due this week. Practice your book commercial at least three times.

3. Reflections Contest. Due Tuesday December 9, 2008. This is a requirement for students in Mr. Joe's LA/SS class this year. Students may enter any or all of the six categories. The students all received a hard copy of the entry form, or you may access it here. All entries must have a copy of the registration form with the parent/guardian attached.
