What we did in class today...

Reading - We paid our weekly visit to the media center.

Writing - We wrote small moment stories based on family stories we've always heard.

Word Study (Grammar, Vocabulary, Spelling) -

Social studies

We discussed the difference between legal and illegal immigrants, whether illegals should get drivers licenses or not, and wrote summary paragraphs based on an article from Freep.com.

Homework…

Language Arts:

1. Read a book of your choosing for at least 20 minutes.

2. R&E #4 due Tuesday January 29 (***Note: Any student who creates and develops a blog for their R&E will be allowed to skip the February R&E.)

Social Studies

1. Yak art due Friday 1.25.08. Students may choose from one of the following themes: African-American History; love and friendship; or a winterscape. Art work must be on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, with student's name, age, town, and phone number on the back.
