What we did in class today:

Language Arts:

We developed a number of different thesis statements for literary analyses of short stories we've read.

Creative Communications is an optional poetry and essay contest for our kids. Extra credit will be given. I'm available to edit.

Social Studies:

We reviewed our study guide for Islam. Test tomorrow.

Homework

Language Arts

1. Read 20 minutes. Post your reading to the reading log on http://56reading.wikispaces.com/

2. Write for at least five minutes on your Daily Writing Blog on your Weebly site. Write your choice of genre: narrative, expository, poetry, media reviews, memoir, et. al.

3. Email the link to your Weebly Site to Mr. Joe (if you haven't already)

4. R&E #4 - Due week of February 9. Practice your book commercial at least three times.

5. Blue packet due February 6.

6. Spelling test February 6.

Social Studies

1.Current Events Week 2'ers. Post to Moodle by Wednesday February 4. Responses by February 6. Ask your student for details. The assignment is clearly explained on Moodle.

2. Study for Islam test tomorrow.
