What we did in class today:
Language Arts:
We continued drafting our literary essays, focusing on structure.
Creative Communications is an optional poetry and essay contest for our kids. Extra credit will be given. I'm available to edit.
Social Studies:
We reviewed our study guide for our test tomorrow on the Chang dynasty of China.
Homework
Language Arts
1. Read 20 minutes. Post your reading to the reading log on http://56reading.wikispaces.com/
2. Write for at least five minutes on your Daily Writing Blog on your Weebly site. Write your choice of genre: narrative, expository, poetry, media reviews, memoir, et. al.
3. R&E #5 starts March 16. Students will pretend to be a character in the book and will convince the class why to read the book. Students must pick a character and stay "in character" as they present.
4. Read The Royal Kingdoms... in your Read Reading Book. Complete pages 38-52 in your blue packet by Tuesday March 10.
5. Study words on p. 45 for spelling test on Friday March 6.
Social Studies
1.Current Events Week 1'ers. Post to Moodle by Wednesday March 4. Responses by March 6. Ask your student for details. The assignment is clearly explained on Moodle.
